About the role
Support surgery to patients of all ages through a wide range of surgical specialties ranging from Dental, ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Plastics, Urology and Paediatrics.
Our Day Surgery Unit is a one-stop shop. In this role you will :
coordinate and facilitate the smooth transitioning of both elective and acute patients through the day surgery theatres
care for patients right across the continuum of care from preadmissions through to discharge
accommodate patients admitted for a variety of non-theatre procedures
operate in a small cohesive team of supportive and friendly health professionals
initiate and participate in quality improvement activities
embrace technological advancements
contribute to the new Dunedin Hospital planning and transition
create solutions to problems in a responsive manner

About you
You will have :
New Zealand Nursing registration with a current APC
proven leadership experience
a strong vision for day surgery
airway management skills (desirable but not essential).

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale, between $114,025 and $121,444 p.a dependent on relevant experience.
