  • About the Role
  • The Delivery Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of projects that align with Health New Zealand's operational priorities. This position leads and manages dedicated delivery teams, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective design, development, and implementation of technology solutions. Responsible for overseeing complex technology environments that support critical applications and multiple users nationwide, the Delivery Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet business needs. A key focus of the role is maintaining delivery excellence while aligning all services and initiatives with strategic organizational goals.
  • About the Team / Service / Location
  • The Delivery Manager will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team within Health New Zealand's Digital Services Directorate, focused on delivering critical technology projects that support the organization's operational priorities. This team works closely with a range of stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of solutions across a complex technology environment serving multiple users nationwide. In addition, the team collaborates with the Change and Adoption function, which includes Change Analysts who support effective change management across digital initiatives. Reporting to the Capability Manager – Change and Adoption, this national team drives successful adoption of new ways of working by assessing change impacts and mitigating risks. Together, these teams foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and delivery excellence, playing a vital role in enabling smooth transitions and advancing Health New Zealand's broader digital transformation goals.
  • About you
  • You are a seasoned digital leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for driving system reliability and performance. You bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to equity and innovation in healthcare. As a leader, you inspire cross-functional teams to adopt best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role :
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology projects or programs within complex IT environments
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers
