Large Animal Technician

Taranaki Veterinary Centre is a leading, multi-branch veterinary practice located in the heart of South Taranaki, New Zealand. With clinics in Hawera, Manaia, Stratford, Patea, and Waverley, we employ over 90 dedicated team members, including over 30 veterinarians and over 50 support staff.

We are seeking a motivated Large Animal Technician to join our friendly, professional team. We service predominantly dairy farming clients in the Taranaki Region and a large part of our technician workload involves calf disbudding, vaccinations, intramammary insertion, data entry, and bolus administration.

We are looking for someone interested in building on their existing skills. The position offers learning and development opportunities, and our ideal candidate will have a long-term commitment to the position.

Key Skills Required

• Love working in the outdoors and be physically fit
• Be familiar with dairy farming and have excellent stock handling skills
• Large Animal Veterinary Technician tertiary qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Work exceptionally well in a team environment
• Take pride in working to a high standard consistently
• Be hard working and able to work well under pressure
• Have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Accurate computer data entry and keyboard skills
• Have a current full New Zealand driver's license
