Job description

We are currently seeking a project systems integration Intermediate Automation Systems Engineer with 2+ years of experience programming in PLC / HMI / and SCADA for a role for a growing company that is one of the leading automation companies in New Zealand. This person will be part of a Factory Automation team involved in projects with manufacturing, robotics and vision. This role will require two weeks in a row out of five weeks of travel to customer locations to provide on-site automation support and services using SCADA iFIX and InTouch on Rockwell / Allen Bradley PLCs. The individual can either travel on Mondays and Fridays (2-3 hour drive each way) or stay over the weekend.

This person must be passionate about the development and implementation of process improvements through the use of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA.

You will need to have demonstrated ability to lead projects and systems integration across functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of manufacturing and process automation solution.

The person must be fully conversant with a range of electrical procedures in the field of factory automation - design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, research and development.

Programming skills (PLC / HMI / SCADA) of 2+ years experience required with a variety of PLCs such as :

  • Rockwell - Allen-Bradley; ControlLogix / CompactLogix / MicroLogix / SLC series

Experience with designing and programming SCADA system :

  • IFIX SCADA
  • Intouch SCADA
  • SCADA Platforms - InTouch, IFIX
  • Experience

  • A degree withMechatronics courses or related field OR
  • 2+ years experience as a full-time Automation Engineer delivering projects that required both PLC, HMI and SCADA programming.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley is a must.
  • Experience with SCADA iFIX and InTouch (Ideally both)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn fast.
  • Ability to build key relationships with personnel on client sites.
