About us

Te Tari Pureke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand's Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.

To achieve this, Te Tari Pureke delivers four core functions : effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

We are committed to fostering a culture of safe and responsible firearms use, gun ownership and awareness by working collaboratively with the firearms community, our stakeholders, and fellow agencies.

About the role

Through the Firearms Registry, we are strengthening how we manage firearms and other arms items in New Zealand. All firearms licence holders are now required to register arms items in their possession through digital or non-digital channels.

As an

Arms Administrator - Registry

you will play an integral role in improving public safety. You will be the main point of contact for Te Tari Pureke and the Registry, providing exceptional customer experience and support via our digital and non-digital channels as well as fulfilling back-office functions.

Key Deliverables :

Maintain accurate, secure, and timely correspondence, information, and records by recording, updating, and retrieving information.

Provide an effective and professional response to customers via digital and non-digital channels (including inbound / outbound calling). Effectively operate within licensing systems and NIA guidelines.

Provide accurate information extraction, the update of information in a detailed manner and the undertaking of mail-outs and other associated tasks as directed.

Establish and maintain appropriate internal and external working relationships with firearms licence holders and new with customer applicants.

Foster an understanding of licence holder expectations and their regulatory responsibilities.

Adhere to the Service Excellence and Quality Assurance standards during all interactions.
