Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is looking for casual nurses to staff the Pink Campervan, a vital mobile health initiative travelling Aotearoa to share life‑saving breast health information and promote early detection of cancer. As a Pink Caravan Breast Nurse, you’ll use your skills where they’re needed most by connecting with communities and empowering people with knowledge that could save lives.
We’re looking for a nurse who is comfortable working in the community and is passionate and enthusiastic about health education and awareness. We aim to reach out to people who might have difficulty accessing health care – such as Māori or Pacific people, or remote communities. Since the program started in 2014, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ has been able to provide free, lifesaving breast health advice to thousands of women and men around Aotearoa. If you can help, please talk to us about joining the campervan team!
We are looking for someone who is Auckland based for this role, but is also happy to travel to other parts of the country.
More information about our Pink Campervan program can be found here :
About the Role :
The Pink Campervan is an education and awareness service; free to anyone who wants to stop and talk with the nurses. Each day, the campervan and nurses visit new sites or towns to talk about breast cancer with the general public and local health professionals. Our aim is to ensure early diagnosis of breast cancer. Our nurses provide valuable advice about symptoms, treatments, support and recovery after breast cancer. We use health models and free resources to teach communities about early detection of breast cancer and the importance of signing up for a mammogram.
About You :
We are looking for nurses who have a special interest in health promotion, breast health or breast cancer to join the campervan team! You will be a Registered Nurse who is interested in working with communities; a background in breast screening, surgical or oncology nursing is useful. We are also particularly interested in hearing from people based in Auckland and happy to work in the Auckland community, but there is also opportunity to travel to other parts around the country, working 4-5 days at a time.
The Offer :
We take care of all the practical and logistical considerations so that you can join the tour wherever it is. For each visit on the campervan, you will be paired with an experienced nurse and we are able to provide any in‑service education needed. We pay a per diem allowance as well as a daily contract rate. You would be working as a contractor, which means you will invoice us for your services and take care of your taxes (we can help you with the simple setup to start working as a contractor). It also means that you can do this role in addition to another one.
To request a position description or to discuss the role further, please email our coordinator Talia Cooper at
You can also call Talia on if you have any questions. Closing date is Sunday 14 December 2025.
