We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Produce Store Manager to support our team and contribute to the smooth, day-to-day operations of our GoodFor Wholefoods Refillery store in Grey Lynn, Auckland.
This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. While weekend work is not part of the regular schedule, flexibility to assist may occasionally be required depending on operational needs.
As Produce Store Manager, you will play a key supporting role in maintaining high store standards, driving efficiency, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager to lead the team, manage stock, and uphold our commitment to sustainability and quality.
A core focus of this position will be overseeing the fresh produce section, ensuring freshness,
accurate pricing, and premium presentation that reflects our brand values.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Work closely with the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
- Supervise and motivate team members, assisting with rostering, task delegation, and training.
- Oversee the fresh produce section, maintaining product quality, presentation, and freshness at all times.
- Manage chillers to ensure they are fully stocked and well-presented through accurate inventory control, timely ordering, and close monitoring of best-before dates. Maintain proper rotation and organisation to minimise waste and ensure consistent product availability.
- Order, price, and forecast fresh produce according to demand and supplier performance.
- Conduct weekly stocktakes and assist with overall inventory management to minimise waste and maintain stock accuracy.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality compliance.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and customer-friendly store environment in line with brand
standards.
Assist in implementing marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.Provide excellent customer service, resolving issues promptly and maintaining a positive shopping experience.Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.Liaise with the Store Manager, suppliers, and support office to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.Skills and Experience Required :
Proven experience in a customer-facing environment (retail, grocery, or hospitality)Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader roleStrong understanding of fresh produce handling, rotation (FIFO), and quality controlExcellent communication and organisational skillsProactive and hands-on approach with great attention to detailCommitment to sustainability and delivering outstanding customer experiencesLocation : Grey Lynn, Auckland

Salary Range : $65,000–$72,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
