Job Description :
Yummy king takeaway in Waitara a is looking for some full-time Chinese Cooks to join us, mainly responsible for cooking Chinese style dishes on our menu.
This is a full time permanent position, you will work 30-40 hours per week on the roster (minimum 30 hours guarantee), immediate start, with hourly rate $28.00-$30.00, depends on your skills, qualification and work experience.
We open 7 days a week, please note that you may need to work on nights, weekends and public holidays.
Your duties will include :
- Receive and store deliveries, examine foodstuffs to ensure quality before preparation and cooking, including inspecting ingredients (such as vegetables, meats, seafood, and other items) for freshness, proper storage, and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as grills, woks, fryers, and other appliances.
Monitor and adjust temperatures to ensure optimal cooking conditions and food safety.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, cutting, mixing, chopping vegetables, cutting meat and seafood, marinating meats and seafood, and preparing sauces.Cook a variety of dishes on the menu according to recipes or specific instructions, such as stir-fries, fried rice, noodles, and soups, using appropriate techniques (e.g., wok frying, steaming, boiling, and roasting).Season food during cooking by adding herbs, spices, and other ingredients to enhance flavor as required.Portion and organize ingredients in advance.Accurately portion cooked food and plate dishes attractively, adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes before serving or packaging for takeaway.
Ensure presentation and portion sizes meet the business's standards.
Place raw and cooked food in temperature-controlled facilities such as refrigerators, freezers, or warming equipment to maintain freshness, prevent spoilage, and comply with health regulations.Modify recipes or prepare separate meals as needed to accommodate customer allergies or dietary requirements, including vegetarian, gluten-free, low-sodium options, religious restrictions, or dietary preferences.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.Clean cooking equipment and workstations before, during, and after shifts.
May assist with menu development and estimate food requirements based on seasonal availability, customer preferences, and restaurant trends.This includes calculating ingredient quantities and ordering supplies as needed.
May train junior kitchen staff and apprentices in food preparation, cooking techniques, safety standards, and kitchen procedures.Requirements :
