Group Dairy Manager

Pye Group is a proudly family-owned agribusiness with deep roots in Mid and South Canterbury. With farming operations spanning dairying, cropping, vegetables, grazing, transport, and contracting , we’re passionate about growing people and communities from the ground up.

In this newly created position, we’re seeking an experienced Group Dairy Manager to lead the operational and strategic performance of our dairy portfolio — 13 contract-milked farms (approximately 13,000 cows) and supporting young stock units .

This will be a key leadership role within our business, responsible for ensuring high-performing, efficient, and sustainable farm operations that reflect Pye Group’s values and long-term goals.

About the Role

• Oversee the performance of all dairy farms and grazing operations against agreed KPIs for production, cost, animal health, and compliance
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of Contract Milkers and farm leaders to achieve strong on-farm results
• Drive continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and consistency across operations
• Lead the development and review of annual budgets, contracts, and reporting to ensure profitability and transparency
• Champion best-practice animal welfare, environmental compliance, and sustainability
• Foster strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and industry partners
