They work closely with the Food & Beverage team at Number Six Bar and Bistro, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
From room bookings to dining recommendations, we work together to create a welcoming and cohesive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.We are looking for people who : enjoy meeting new people and will provide a warm, professional serviceare confident decision-makers who can stay calm and solution focused under pressurehave a good understanding of booking software (preferably Opera Cloud, but not essential)are excellent communicators - both written and spokencan learn quickly, and work independently and collaborativelyKey Responsibilities : welcome and check guests in and out with care and efficiencymanage bookings via phone, online, and in personresponding to email bookings and enquiriescash handling, being able to confidently balance transactionswork collaboratively with other departments to ensure a full guest experiencethe ability to work weekends, Saturday / Sunday and public holidays, with flexibility to fill other shifts when requiredbe familiar with and provide information on programmes and services operated by The Kind Foundation and be able to direct enquiries to the correct peopleOur reception team work rostered shifts between 7am to 10pm – please note that the shifts we are looking to fill include weekend and evening shifts.Positions AvailableThe two options we have available are : Fixed Term : 1 October 2025 to 30 April 2026 - minimum of 20 hours a weekCasual : As requiredHours : Shifts range from 7am to 10pm on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidaysLocation of work : Hotel Give, 6 Rolleston Avenue, Christchurch CentralApplication ProcessPlease include a cover letter with your CV detailing why you think you would be an ideal candidate for this position.
