We are seeking an experienced and dedicated learning support coordinator (LSC) to join our Te Au o Tamatea – St Andrews Middle School whānau. This is a permanent part-time position working one day per week (0.2). As our LSC, you'll be key in ensuring all learners receive appropriate support and enhancing overall learning progress. This role requires you to influence school-wide systems and lift capability in meeting diverse student needs.
- Learners : Support learners by understanding their needs and providing timely, culturally responsive support so they can thrive, belong and progress in all aspects of school life.
- Kaiako (teachers and teacher aides) : Lift capability to better meet the needs of learners and to strengthen their connections with learning services.
- Parents and whānau : Encourage parents and whānau to partner successfully with their school and develop understanding of learning support processes and who to contact if needed.
- Other LSCs, Ministry staff, and wider agencies : Access services and resources to support learners.
- School leadership team : Influence others to ensure all learners receive appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.
The key knowledge and qualification requirements of the LSC role are :
demonstrated experience working with children with learning support needsthe ability to build and maintain strong relationships with parents, whānau and communitiesthe ability to confidently engage at a school or kura leadership levelinfluencing skills at a high working level within a school or kurathe ability to provide culturally responsive support that protects the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangithe ability to meet professional standards relevant to their current position.See job description attached.
