Salary : $83,195 - $97,876 + superannuation

The role | Te tūnga

The Information Centre is at the forefront of Stats NZ's relationships with customers, providing them with the data and statistics they need to make good decisions for Aotearoa. Taking a leadership role within the team, this position will ensure the delivery of an excellent service to customers, while also supporting the wider business.

  • Lead and support reporting, planning, process improvement, and projects or other initiatives across the wider customer services and support team.
  • Build relationships across the business to support the activities of the team.
  • Respond effectively to complex enquiries from customers with official statistics and other information relevant to their needs.
  • Become an expert in the products and services provided by Stats NZ.
  • Mentor and coach other advisors to provide an excellent service for our customers.
  • What We're Looking For

  • Enthusiasm for helping customers on a wide range of projects. You\'ll have experience working with all sorts of people and be able to engage with people from all walks of life.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. You\'ll be comfortable translating technical information into plain English.
  • Knowledge of Stats NZ published data and statistics and willingness to understand how they can be used for different purposes.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and experience of taking on other perspectives.
  • Proven ability to work across teams and with people at various levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in or willingness to learn about and implement new processes and ways of working as appropriate to enable innovation across the business.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and ability to drive initiatives.
  • Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Māori
  • Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
