We are looking for a nurse for a 6 month Part Time Fixed Term to help out in our Dermatology service from mid November 2025.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Deepen your knowledge of the differences between food and environmental allergies—how they affect our patients and the best ways to manage and treat them

Learn about allergy testing procedures designed to pinpoint specific triggers

Be actively involved in patient care by assisting with veterinary consultations and dispensing prescribed medications

Support clients by addressing questions and helping them understand their pet's treatment plan

Build in-depth knowledge of how allergies can severely impact our patient's health and quality of life

Gain a solid foundation in food allergy diagnosis and management

Discover the wide spectrum of autoimmune diseases that affect companion animals

Hours of work

42 hours per fortnight

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week, additional hours available in the ER working around these hours

ARC North Ltd (ARC Vets) is a private independently owned and operated animal referral practice established in 2016.

We have two modern and amazing Auckland sites – Freemans Bay, Auckland city and Albany, North Shore.

We operate a 24 hour / 7-day week operation for emergency medicine.

We also have specialists in small animal surgery, diagnostic imaging,internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and critical care.

Hydrotherapy and dermatology are available at ARC North.

We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern referral veterinary hospital includingfull in-house laboratory suite with Radiometer, multiparameter patient monitors, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, underwater treadmill, mechanical ventilation, on-site CT and MRI, along with dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and wards.

Have at least 2 year's experience working as a veterinary nurse

Hold a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree (or overseas equivalent)

Deliver an exceptionally high standard of patient care

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Be extremely reliable & willing to work shifts, including weekends & public holidays
