About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Line Mechanic and / or Cable Jointer who can deliver projects to a high standard, work well within the team and bring a strong focus on safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field staff onsite and coordinate resources to safely deliver project work to Powerco standards
- Receive project handovers from Delivery and Resource Managers and contribute to project planning
- Carry out maintenance and asset replacement on overhead and underground distribution network assets
- Install underground reticulation, cables, transformers, and switchgear
- Replace poles and crossarms on the local network
- Perform and document electrical testing in accordance with Electrical Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Complete jobs within allocated labour hours and materials
- Assist in training apprentices / trainee Line Mechanics
- Build strong working relationships with apprentices and team members
- Communicate proactively about any issues impacting project delivery or health and safety

Full NZ driver’s licence (Class 2 preferred)NZQA Level 4 Electrical qualification, either Line Mechanic and / or Cable JointerStrong aptitude for network distribution workSound knowledge of electrical codes and safety practicesAbility to read and interpret plans, schematics, and construction standardsMinimum 5 years’ experience on a distribution networkWhat We Offer
