Mō Te Tūranga | About the role

As Tribe Technology Lead for the Lend & Protect Tribe, you will provide expert, strategic technology leadership. You’ll define the Tribe’s technology architecture, oversee delivery of high-quality technology outcomes, and drive excellence and consistency across the Tribe’s work in alignment with reference architecture and Service Domain blueprints.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define the Tribe's technology roadmap and progress toward the target state
  • Oversee delivery of technology outcomes, ensuring projects meet quality standards and align with Tribe and ASB objectives
  • Act as a strategic collaborator to the Tribe Lead and CXOs / CXLs, co-defining key technology investments
  • Ensure delivery of technology changes required for the wider ASB organisation
  • Identify and address conflicts to ensure smooth collaboration within the Tribe
  • Manage core technology assets for reliability, functionality, and performance
  • Monitor system health, address technical risks, and escalate as required
  • Determine optimal technology capability mix and develop Chapter Leads
  • Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement
  • Regularly evaluate and enhance processes, technologies, and methodologies

You\'ll Be Responsible For

  • Creating and maintaining a clear, actionable technology roadmap aligned with ASB strategy
  • Delivering business and technology outcomes with minimal disruption
  • Unblocking technology blockers and resolving delivery bottlenecks
  • Providing strategic and people leadership to Tech Area Lead and Chapter Leads
  • Driving strategic technology investments to support Tribe objectives
  • Ensuring Tribe technology systems meet standards and controls, uplifting engineering craft
  • Maintaining a healthy, engaged, and well-resourced engineering workforce
  • Reducing cost to run and ensuring zero unresolved technology-related audit findings per quarter
  • Maintaining strong relationships with Tribe Leads, Product Owners, and third-party vendors
  • Driving continuous improvement in delivery flow and adherence to PACE standards

    You're a strategic technology leader with deep technical expertise and a proven ability to deliver at scale. You bring :

  • Experience in modernising legacy technology to cloud-based future-fit solutions in an enterprise environment
  • Knowledge of the lending domain within the financial services industry
  • Deep expertise in software development, systems architecture, infrastructure, and engineering practices
  • Strong knowledge of technology engineering best practices and industry standards
  • Experience defining and delivering strategic technology roadmaps
  • Ability to help team members grow their technical skills and foster a culture of learning, improvement, and engagement
  • Strong executive, stakeholder, and third-party vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to inform, motivate, inspire, align, and influence—especially under time pressure
