Whanau Awhina Plunket is the largest service in Aotearoa supporting the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whanau, we provide clinical support through our traditional well child checks, 24 / 7 telehealthcare via PlunketLine as well as community support such as playgroups where whanau can gather and form lasting positive relationships within their community.

Join us as a

part time (4 days a week or 5 shorter days)

Registered Nurse on a

fixed term contract until May 2026.

We have some flexibility for you to choose which days you work.

You act as a case manager for between 650 - 700 whanau across the Invercargill area, conducting health and development checks in homes and at our Kelvin St clinic.

For whanau who need additional support, you\'ll work in partnership with our team of Registered Nurses, healthworkers and other internal and external services to ensureeach pepi have what they need to thrive.

Full time annual salary for our Registered Nurses are between$66,222 ($33.51 per hour) - $94,842 ($48 per hour) depending on experience.

Once you pick up your car and head out for the day, this role offers a fair amount of autonomy, therefore, you need to be a confident practitioner who is flexible enough to manage the dynamic environment that comes with working in the community.

You'll have a warm and non-judgemental approach which will enable you to connect and understand the needs of each whanau.

In a cost of living crisis, social needs often co-exists with clinical advice therefore, screening for and supporting with complexities such as family violence, substance use and mental health with sensitivity is a ever present part of our role.
