Risk and Resilience Lead - Procurement, Supply Chain & Health Technology Management

About the Role
As Risk and Resilience Lead , within the Strategy and Enablement leadership team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and continuity of Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM) operations. You'll lead the development and delivery of risk management, business continuity, and recovery strategies, providing independent assurance to senior leadership that risks and issues are identified and managed effectively.
This is a strategic role where your insights will shape resilience planning across one of the most complex commercial environments in New Zealand. You'll work closely with leaders to embed a culture of risk awareness, conduct independent assessments, and ensure preparedness for disruptions that could impact health services nationwide.
About the Team / Service / Location
The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over$9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.
About you
You're a strategic thinker with a strong sense of accountability and a passion for building resilience in complex systems. You bring a depth of experience in risk management and operational resilience, and you know how to turn insights into practical strategies that protect critical services. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing at senior levels, and fostering a culture where risk awareness and preparedness are second nature.
You're collaborative by nature, able to build trusted relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders. You combine analytical rigor with clear communication, making complex issues understandable and actionable.
