Craighead Diocesan School is a high achieving, state-integrated girls’ boarding and day school based in Timaru, Aotearoa New Zealand. We seek a compassionate and skilled guidance counsellorwho is committed to the special character and values of our school,to join our pastoral care team and contribute to the wellbeing of our students.

The guidance counsellor plays a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and mental wellbeing of students. Working within a values-based, special character environment,we are looking for someone who will provide confidential counselling and wellbeing support to students, willwork collaboratively with the senior leadership team, deans, chaplain, and teaching staff, liaise with external agencies and families to ensure wraparound support, and contribute to the school’s culture of care, inclusion, and manaakitanga.

We are looking for a guidance counsellor whohas experience working with youngpeople, ideally in a school setting, is empathetic, professional, and able to build strong, trusting relationshipsand is areflective practitioner valuingcollaboration and continuous learning.

Teacher registration is an advantage but is not essential.
