    About the Role

    We're looking for a skilled Senior Advisor to lead the development and delivery of emergency management training and exercising across Health New Zealand. You'll translate strategic frameworks into practical programmes that support preparedness at local, regional, and national levels. This role will strengthen national preparedness through training, exercising, and support.

    About the Team / Service / Location

    This role sits within the Health, Wellbeing, Safety & Organisational Resilience team in the People & Culture team. You'll be part of a national network of emergency management professionals, working closely with district leads and regional teams to strengthen our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

    About you

    You're an expert in adult learning and emergency management training, with a strong track record of designing and delivering national-level programmes. You're confident facilitating workshops and exercises, and a trusted advisor skilled at building collaborative relationships.

    You will have

    • Significant experience designing, delivering, and evaluating emergency management training and exercising programmes within complex organisations
    • Proven ability to apply adult learning principles and modern methodologies, e.g. blended learning, simulation, scenario-based.
    • Strong understanding of emergency management frameworks (including CIMS).
    • Experience developing national training frameworks and resources.
    • Ability to create inclusive, culturally safe learning environments that reflect Health NZ's diverse workforce and communities.
