We now need a talented Commercial Business Partner to join the team to support commercial and strategic decision making.

About the opportunity

As Commercial Business Partner, you'll sit at the heart of Nelmac Kumanu's commercial and financial decision-making.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a broad and influential senior role where you will :

Partner with divisional leaders and the CFO to deliver commercial and financial insight.

Provide strategic decision support on business initiatives, tenders, and capital investments.

Lead procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor management.

Drive capital planning and fleet optimisation, including annual and five-year capital budgets, utilisation reporting, redeployment, and emissions oversight.

Maintain best-practice project financial management, forecasting, and reporting.

Oversee risk management and insurance, ensuring resilience and robust mitigation strategies.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives that lift efficiency, value, and business performance.

Act as a visible leader, modelling Nelmac's values and fostering collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence.

This role offers the opportunity to combine strategic insight with hands-on delivery, making a tangible impact on both business outcomes and environmental sustainability.

About you

Your commercial acumen is matched by your ability to build strong relationships and influence senior leaders.

You are confident providing clear, pragmatic advice, and have the resilience and courage to make sound recommendations.

Experience in contracting, construction, or local government environments will be advantageous, equipping you to navigate the commercial and compliance context Nelmac operates within.

Advanced technical capability with financial systems, strong Excel skills, and the ability to lead business improvement initiatives are essential.
