Farm Foreman / Forewoman

Overview

The Farm Foreman / Forewoman will lead and coordinate daily farm operations, supervise a small team, and maintain animal health and safety on a beef cattle ranch.

Responsibilities

• Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses.
• Diagnose livestock health issues.
• Direct farm feed inventory activities.
• Direct farm grooming activities.
• Handle animals.
• Monitor the calving process.
• Monitor animal health.
• Organize tasks to accomplish the work.
• Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly.
• Treat livestock health issues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio‑security procedures.
• Carry out pasture or pen breeding programs.
• Co‑ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
• Ensure farm safety and bio‑security procedures are followed.
• Formulate feeding program.
• Maintain livestock performance records.
• Maintain quality control and production records.
• Select livestock for sale.
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock‑related programs.
• Maintain work records and logs.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• Perform general farm duties.

Qualifications

Location & Compensation

Location : Curries Road Woodstock, ON N4S 7V8 (On‑site).

Salary : $25.00 per hour, 40 hours per week.

Terms : Permanent full‑time employment.

Working hours : Early morning, day, evening, weekend, flexible hours, overtime available; starts as soon as possible.
