Role

Job Description : We’re looking for a visionary Portfolio Chief Engineer to ensure our facilities, assets, and infrastructure remain at the top of their game. Based in Auckland CBD and overseeing 14 exceptional properties across New Zealand, you’ll be the strategic and operational leader for engineering and maintenance across our hotel portfolio, reporting directly to the Portfolio General Manager. You will provide hands-on guidance, long-term capital planning, and technical expertise to ensure our properties operate safely, sustainably, and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor on-property Chief Engineers and maintenance teams across all 14 hotels.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
• Develop and manage multi-year capital improvement and asset protection plans, 5 years in advance
• Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
• Manage engineering budgets, cost controls, and procurement for equipment and contractors.
• Drive consistent engineering standards across the portfolio to meet brand, owner, and guest expectations.
• Act as the point of escalation for urgent technical issues.
