ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems. The rockets and satellites we build and launch enable some of the most ambitious and vital space missions globally, supporting scientific exploration, Earth observation, climate change mitigation, national security, and technological demonstrations. Since 2018, our Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit and is among the most frequently launched rockets worldwide. Our upcoming Neutron rocket is a 13-tonne payload class, reusable launch vehicle designed for mega constellations and future space missions. Our space systems include a broad range of satellites and components that have supported over 1,700 missions, including the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA Psyche Mission, Artemis I, and Mars Ingenuity helicopter.

Join our pioneering team and elevate your career to new heights!

BUILDING NEUTRON AT ROCKET LAB :

Neutron is a medium-lift launch vehicle capable of delivering large payloads, mega constellations, and supporting human spaceflight. As a highly reusable platform, Neutron offers a cost-effective and reliable launch solution, building on Rocket Lab’s proven success with the Electron program. The Neutron team is responsible for designing, testing, and deploying the rocket and its launch and test sites across the United States. This includes structural and component design, engine testing, and site setup—offering an opportunity to help launch a new, larger rocket for the first time!

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO :

Your responsibilities will include working on pressurized tanks, unpressurized sections, and fairings of the S1 and S2 structures of the Neutron launch vehicle. The role requires extensive knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques, product familiarity, and openness to exploring new building methods.

This position is part of Research and Development, involving collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to execute and deliver test campaigns at various scales. A focus on cost reduction and lean production is essential. You will need to understand project timelines and delivery estimates to ensure successful project execution.

Given the large scope of the Neutron project, your problem-solving skills and experience will help mitigate handling and logistics issues. Balancing quick development needs with product specifications is critical. Opportunities will expand as Neutron moves into production and as AIT facilities are developed in New Zealand and the US.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Advanced knowledge of Prepreg manufacturing
  • Experience with core bonding and splicing
  • Resin infusion expertise
  • Broad industry manufacturing experience
  • Basic IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 3 years of industry experience

If interested, and you'd like to learn more, apply now!
