Job description

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Join a values-led healthcare organisation reimagining recruitment in New Zealand. As our Talent Acquisition Advisor, you’ll take the lead in delivering end-to-end recruitment across a diverse portfolio of clinical and non‑clinical roles, ensuring Southern Cross Healthcare (SCHL) attracts, engages, and secures the best people in the market. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers and leaders to shape recruitment strategies, from crafting compelling job adverts and sourcing top talent to coordinating or running interviews through to offer. You’ll bring market insights, creativity, and a deep understanding of what great talent looks like — all while ensuring every interaction reflects SCHL’s values and commitment to excellence.

Talent Acquisition Advisor (Two roles available)

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll take ownership of your portfolio and act as a trusted advisor to the business. You’ll design sourcing campaigns for hard‑to‑fill roles, engage passive candidates through job boards and professional networks, and represent SCHL at career events and industry forums to build visibility and future pipelines. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll refine our processes, champion our employment brand, and use data and technology to deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience – every time. We have two full‑time permanent roles based in our National Support Office in the CBD.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • 4–6 years’ experience managing end-to-end recruitment, ideally within a complex, multi‑site or healthcare environment.

  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and partner with hiring managers to achieve great outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — and a genuine ability to engage, inspire, and build trust with candidates and colleagues.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confident using technology, including Applicant Tracking Systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other digital sourcing tools.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ownership of outcomes, always seeking ways to improve and deliver excellence.
  • Sound understanding of employment and immigration compliance, ensuring recruitment practices remain compliant and fair.
  • Experience recruiting within healthcare or specialist industries, and familiarity with psychometric assessments and structured interviewing techniques.
  • Skilled at building recruitment capability, coaching hiring managers, and contributing to process improvements and TA projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is desirable.
