Job overview
Carry out allocated cleaning duties, achieving established standards of cleanliness and presentation to meet guest expectations for room areas, non-room areas, public areas and back-of-house areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean and service allocated rooms to Sofitel reference standards.
- Clean back-of-house areas and, as required, the kitchen area.
- Clean and maintain locker rooms, staff and public washrooms / toilets; clean public areas as required.
- Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated and ensure department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- Assist with equipment stocktaking and ensure correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturer instructions.
- Assist guests with information or service requests and refer any requests outside your authority to your supervisor.
- Provide turn-down service where required; clean balconies, carpets and other room features as scheduled.
- Support with heavy loads, laundry duties as required, and restock monthly items for the rooms (e.g., magazines).
- Help with removing rollaway beds and cots; assist with other housekeeping duties and turndown as required.
- Identify guest preferences and deliver personalised touches to enhance guest experience.
- Ensure security of keys and public / back-of-house areas by following security procedures and guest confidentiality guidelines.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure equipment, store rooms and trolleys are kept neat and in good working order.
- Be flexible to hotel rostering needs including weekend and public holiday work.
Qualifications
1 year previous experience in a housekeeping role.High level of physical fitness; role involves heavy lifting, carrying linens, and standing for long periods.Understanding of luxury guest expectations with strong attention to detail.Ability to build warm relationships and maintain immaculate grooming and personal presentation.Flexibility to meet hotel rostering needs including weekends and public holidays.Clean police record.Additional information

Guaranteed 30 hours per week, with day, evening and weekend shifts. Salary : NZ$27.50 - NZ$28.53 per hour.Employment details
