Intermediate / Senior Field Technician

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Geotechnics team based in Christchurch as an Intermediate / Senior Field Technician.

To be successful in this position, you will have a track record illustrating a strong work ethic and the ability to deliver high-quality work. You will also have strong competency in Microsoft Word and Excel to an intermediate level, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team on some unique projects.

• Geotechnical field-testing and investigation
• Operation of heavy testing and soil sampling equipment
• Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation
• Contract administration and data entry
• 5 years + fieldwork experience in a technical role
• A good level of physical fitness as the role also involves heavy lifting of machinery
• Good team player and personality
• Must be willing to get hands dirty and enjoy working outdoors
• High standard and quality of paperwork
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• A desire to develop and share knowledge
• Someone who can get things happening, a proactive initiator
• An appreciation of the importance of quality management systems and processes
• A full drivers licence and ability to operate a manual vehicle.
