    As the Consents Planner, you’ll have responsibilityfor the processing of resource consent applications. You’ll bring knowledge ofrelevant legislation and regional and local Council planning frameworks.

    • Provide sound advice to community& stakeholders on the consenting process
    • Interpret data and legislation to finalise consentrecommendations
    • Investigate, advise, and report on resource consentsapplications
    • Respond to internal and external resource consent inquiriesand issues

      Indicativesalary range $70,000 - $90,000

      Mōu │ About You

      Ideally, you’ll be tertiary qualified in Planning, Natural Resources,Environmental Management or other relevant discipline. You’ll be astrong communicator, someone that connects easily with the community,customers, members of your team, and key stakeholders. You’ll be a natural collaborator drawingpeople together, listening to their issues, and building trust as you respondto consent inquiries and issues.

      Moreabout you :

    • Experience in Planning and / or local government
    • Excellent working knowledge of the national direction and aninterest in the government’s review of the Resource Management Act
    • An interest in Māori Rights in theResource Management Framework
    • An understanding of Te Tiritī o Waitangi and the obligations andrequirements of local government to Te Tiriti
    • Manage expectations and build relationshipswith our PapatipuRūnanga partners, territorial authorities, communities, and stakeholders
    • Critical thinking, solutions focussed, and alove of resolving tricky resource management issues
