About the role | He korero whakamarama mo tenei turanga

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Youth Support Workers who are keen to create positive difference to the tamariki and rangatahi we support in our residential and community services. Please note these roles are within a Female Only Service and can be based in our Christchurch, Rangiora and / or Rolleston services.

The young people we support may come from an experience of significant trauma alongside neurodiversity. So as a Youth Support Worker, it is important that you have an understanding how to support through trauma-informed approach lens while maintaining a firm professional boundary.

Key responsibilities :

• Supporting the young person with their daily routine. Preparing meals, administering medication, school drop off and pick up, taking them to appointments, support with personal care and some household tasks.
• Encouraging rangatahi to grow their independence and confidence
• Maintaining a safe, warm and welcoming whare
• Participating in regular team hui and learning opportunities
• Helping people stay connected to their culture, whanau, and local community
