We work in partnership with mana whenua Ngai Tahu to protect the health of our environment to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for our region.The region's evolving environmental and political context means we will continue to be agile and adaptive, as we respond to regulatory and environmental changes.Our mahi (work) is organised around the delivery of our three core services : Environmental Regulation and ProtectionCommunity Preparedness and Response to HazardsPublic TransportThis role ensures the successful delivery of strategic and operational projects within Public Transport and across the wider organisation.

You'll lead projects from initiation to completion, manage resources, risks, and budgets, and foster collaboration across teams.

You'll also mentor Project Coordinators and help lift project management capability across the organisation.You'll be accountable to the Public Transport senior leadership team, supporting practices that align with our strategic and operational outcomes.

This is a key role in progressing our PT Roadmap and embedding project management best practice.For more information on this role, please refer to the job description at the bottom of the advert.You're an experienced project manager with a strong track record of delivering complex projects.

You bring excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills, and thrive in collaborative environments.

You're passionate about continuous improvement and mentoring others.A qualification in project management (Prince2 or PMI Certification) or demonstrable experience in these areaExperience in Agile and Scrum methodologiesA background in transport planning, engineering, or similarExperience in government or political environments is a plusA qualification in change management and / or risk management would be an advantageOur mahi is underpinned by our values : We understand and embrace a diverse workforce; this diversity will enable us to better serve our people, our community, and our greatest taonga, the environment.
