Nestled within the vibrant heart of Herne Bay, Tiny Voices is a privately owned and operated early learning centre surrounded by the sea and city in Auckland. We provide high-quality care and education for tamariki aged from 2 years to 5 years in a beautiful, purpose-built environment.
Our philosophy is based on our view that tiny grows into big, that tiny things are great things. We nurture tamariki to find their voices and to hear and understand other voices too. We are a community hub, a place of manaakitanga, a place of respect and kindness, a place where people come together, a place to play and rest, and a place to learn and to teach. We nurture a collaborative and social environment where we encourage and value community and whanau contribution and partnership. We believe in empowering our tamariki with the joy of learning.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. This is a unique and varied role which combines both working as a centre administrator and also as a teacher support in our classrooms, the best of both worlds. Our ideal applicant is friendly, warm, and approachable, with a genuine interest in providing the best possible learning journey for our tamariki.
In your administrator capacity you will be at the heart of our Centre's operations! Working alongside our dedicated Centre Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our facility. Collaborate with a supportive team to create a nurturing environment for our tamariki. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will shine as you deliver outstanding service, fostering respectful relationships with tamariki, whanau, visitors, and kaiako. Our commitment to open communication means that parents and family are always welcome, reflecting our open-door policy. Bring your organisational skills and attention to detail to maintain the efficiency of our administrative systems.
Key Responsibilities :
In your teacher support capacity, you will be required to assist kaiako in the classroom, providing a warm, nurturing, and safe environment that encourages the holistic development of the whole child. We value kaiako as co-researchers and co-constructors in the learning process, allowing children to explore, question, reflect, problem solve, theorise, and encourage self-expression. Tamariki learn best when they engage in experiences that they are interested in.
You will need to hold a respectful image of tamariki as confident and competent learners and value each child as an individual. We believe that play is central to learning and development and provide opportunities that are rich in play and rich in experience. You will contribute to an environment that encourages tamariki to develop their capabilities and interests at their own pace and according to their individual needs.
Tiny Voices offers support with childcare fees, competitive remuneration and a robust system of professional development to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. You will also be supported in your role by our Centre Manager and our teaching team.
Previous experience in childcare is preferred, along with basic knowledge of Xero and other operating systems. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 730am – 5pm.
Join us in shaping a positive environment for our community!
