About the role

This is a role where your technical expertise, communication skills, and sound judgement will make a tangible difference every day. You’ll work across our team to deliver high-quality, legally robust monitoring and enforcement advice, and you’ll play a key part in supporting responsible development, safeguarding our natural environment, and building strong community relationships.

In this role, you will :

• Mentor colleagues, guide internal stakeholders, and collaborate with external partners.
• Monitor compliance with resource consent conditions and conduct inspections.
• Communicate clearly with consent holders, landowners, builders and subcontractors to ensure they understand requirements and outcomes.
• Design and deliver proactive education programmes to lift compliance and reduce environmental impacts, including improved silt and sediment controls.
• Investigate complaints, gather evidence, and take enforcement action where required.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and databases — supporting citywide planning and national reporting obligations.
• Participate in enforcement hearings and make sound recommendations on remedial steps or prosecution.
• Work closely with our Planning and Policy teams on environmental monitoring and standards.
