Healthcare Assistant

We're looking for a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join our Occupational Health care team at our Ashburton site.

This role is designed to support the Registered Nurse in delivering health and wellbeing services for our employees, with a strong focus on early intervention, health monitoring, and injury management in a

fast-paced manufacturing environment

What you'll be doing :

Assisting with pre-employment health screening and annual health monitoring (hearing, lung function, vision, and safety-critical checks).

Carrying out ad hoc health assessments such as blood pressure and weight checks.

Supporting injury management and early intervention, including scheduling physiotherapy, liaising with first aiders, and keeping managers updated on recovery progress.

Conducting workplace drug and alcohol testing in line with company policy.

Maintaining accurate health records to ensure compliance with internal and legislative requirements.

Providing a professional and approachable presence to engage employees in health and wellbeing initiatives.

Managing day-to-day clinic administration, stock control, and scheduling.

What we're looking for :

Experience in a healthcare, occupational health, or wellbeing support role (clinical or non-clinical background will be considered).

Strong organisational and administration skills, with attention to detail.

A friendly, approachable, and professional manner with the ability to build trust and rapport.

Confidence to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Knowledge of workplace health and safety, injury management, or employee wellbeing initiatives would be an advantage.

The ability to adapt and stay organised in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
