Job Description

Animation LecturerLocation : AucklandFull-time | Fixed-Term | Yoobee AucklandThis is a fixed term engagement covering a secondment, with the role ideally starting late October

• and ending in late July

About the role

An amazing opportunity to join our growing Yoobee Auckland campus to support in the delivery of our Bachelor of Animation Programme.

This role is responsible for the delivery and assessment of courses in the programme.

You will be walking into an energetic environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes rather than micro-managing work and tasks.

You will be given autonomy to work in a way that gets the best results and will be expected to take responsibility and make things happen.

Key responsibilities

Participate in the continuous improvement of course content and teaching resources

Deliver assessments and evaluate to prescribed national and local qualification standards

Assist with the care and maintenance of classrooms / labs and teaching equipment and resources including marketing and campus events

Record accurate student data, assessment results, attendance, student-at-risk and other required documentation

About you

You will describe yourself as an accomplished animation practitioner who is enthusiastic, positive, patient, and motivated self-starter who has a passion for sharing knowledge and trying new things.

Your exceptional communication and time management skills, along with the ability to connect and build relationships will be the key to your success!

Qualifications

Adobe PS, AE

Animate or Toonboom

Maya - Animating / Texturing / Modelling

Experience with different animation styles and experimental animation

Basic modelling – Lighting, Camera Staging, pre-viz, rendering.

Breaking down pipelines

Concept Art / Visual Communication Design Theory

Character Design

A Degree level qualification in animation or related field

Experience with a range of research methodologies and ideally experience supervising research

Skills and experience with 3D modelling, texturing, and preproduction skills, e.g., design, storyboards, animatics

Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, and confidence in coordinating and supervising team projects

An ability to connect with students through a variety of delivery methods and provide basic pastoral care and support

Keen to expand your adult teaching skillset as part of your professional development

Game art and design would be an advantage
