The Opportunity

Delaware North New Zealand is hiring a Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor with a keen eye for detail to join our dynamic Housekeeping Team at Pinewood Lodge, Queenstown.

As a key member of the team, you'll report directly to the Housekeeping Manager, offering crucial support and supervising the on-ground delivery of housekeeping duties to maintain a consistent standard of cleanliness across all guest accommodation, public areas and other property facilities that meet or exceed guest expectations. The ideal candidate should be a collaborative team player and possess previous experience in a Housekeeping Team Leader or Supervisory capacity.

This is a hands-on role, so you will be required to train new team members, and to work alongside your team when needed.

What Will You Do?

  • Supervise our diverse housekeeping team and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Oversee the consistency, quality and integrity of all housekeeping work
  • Pro-actively engage and educate team members, fostering learning and development, and maintain high motivation levels through effective leadership and communication
  • Provide team members with regular feedback on performance both positive and constructive
  • Support the Housekeeping Manager with lodge housekeeping operations
  • Forecast to ensure appropriate levels of supplies and resources
  • Review budget and cost of supplies
  • Comply with all guest privacy and security procedures
  • Be work fit - this is a physically demanding role
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts over a 7 day a week roster and ability to accommodate busy seasonal periods
  • More About You

  • 2 years minimum relevant resort / hotel / executive housekeeping experience essential
  • Experience in a cleaning management or housekeeping leadership role, supervising a diverse team to achieve high guest satisfaction and meeting business needs (preferred)
  • Inventory management experience (preferred), with the ability to maximise the use of resources and adhere to budgetary requirements
  • Experience with Hotel Operating systems advantageous
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's licence preferred
  • First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
