Te Parito Kowhai Russley School is looking for an exceptional, empathetic person to collaborate with our students and staff, supporting a learner with high needs.
We have several positions available in our school.To succeed in this position, you will be energetic with a warm disposition and ideally have experience in working with young people with additional educational needs.
Three positions are available.Position 1 : 8 hours over 2 daysPosition 2 : 12 hours over 3 daysPosition 3 :
The role includes working as a team with high needs students.
The roles would commence by negotiation.Experience working with children who have speech, language, and communication needs is highly desirable.
It is also likely that you will be required to assist with toileting needs, and you will need to be comfortable doing so.We welcome applications from individuals with exceptional interpersonal skills who already have experience working with youth.Job tasks and ResponsibilitiesThe following is a range of duties that can be required of this position holder : Assisting students in lessons under the direction of the teacher.Supporting small groups of students under the direction of the teacher.Assisting students who have specific special needs with their personal care as requiredSupporting students on off-site trips and activities as required.Contributing to IEP meetings as required.Attending learning support meetings.Maintaining professional confidentiality concerning student information.Building positive relationships with students with additional needs.Supervise and support students with special conditions as necessary.Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will demonstrate : The ability to relate to and build trust with young people who have additional needs.The ability to communicate effectively to provide information, assistance, and instruction.Excellent interpersonal skills.Flexibility in working arrangements.A professional and warm manner.The ability to remain calm under pressure.The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamRemuneration is as per the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement - teacher aide remuneration and will be placed on a step according to skills and experience.Please visit / for more information.Application forms are available from our school website : should include a CV and the names and contact details of two current referees.
