Job description
Responsibilities
Preparing, cooking, seasoning, garnishing and presentation of dishes.
Design, plan and price menu based on customer preference and seasonality.
Train and manage kitchen staff. You may also involve in hiring kitchen staff.
Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that relevant health codes, food handling practices and the food control plan requirements met.
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed. Minimise waste and manage food costs efficiently.
Regulating temperature of Tandoori oven and other cooking equipment, utilising techniques to freeze and preserve foods.
Liaising with front of house staff to ensure smooth customer service.
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimise waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.
Ability to estimate food and labor costs to maintain profitability for the restaurant.
Requirements
2 years of cooking experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in an Indian cuisine.
Having a relevant qualification will be an advantage but not mandatory.
Culinary technique with knife skills and cooking methods.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
