The opportunity
This role is your chance to make a real impact on the next generation of skilled professionals. As a facilitator of learning, you’ll support student success through hands‑on training, guidance, and assessment, shaping their journey from student to confident professional. You'll have the opportunity to lead course delivery, contribute to course development, and provide a nurturing environment that promotes growth and learning. By ensuring the training centre is well‑maintained and prioritising a safe, supportive space for all, you'll play an essential role in empowering learners to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities
- Engage and Facilitate Learning : Deliver, assess, and continuously improve Skills‑approved courses, fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment for students in both block and day‑release formats.
- Support Student Success : Provide coaching, guidance, and timely feedback on student progress, collaborating with Learning Managers and Apprentice Mentors to ensure achievement and well‑being.
- Maintain Training Centre Quality : Ensure the training centre is well‑prepared and resourced, coordinating with the Learning Manager for any immediate needs, tools, or equipment.
- Promote Health & Safety : Actively engage in and model well‑being and health practices, adhering to Skills’ Health & Safety Policies, and promptly reporting any incidents or risks.
- Collaborate for Excellence : Work closely with the Learning Manager to uphold standards in course delivery and training centre maintenance, always striving to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Desired Skills And Experience
What you’ll bring
A current New Zealand Electrical Registration (Full Practising Licence, Inspector’s Licence or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification)Hold 4098 and unit standard 11551 or be working towards these (if you don't hold these or aren't working towards these we can support as part of your development)Strong practical experience in the electrical industryIdeally, experience in adult education or training (though we can support you in this area)Strong communication and coaching skills, with a passion for developing othersFamiliarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Why join us?
