About the Role

We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Next Generation Team Leader, reporting to the Corps Officer. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation and strategic management of all Children, Youth and Families Ministry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team for the achievement of effective outcomes for young people, children and families across the wider city of Hamilton.
  • Work to identify, recruit and establish a team to serve in next-generation ministry across the Hamilton City Salvation Army's various programmes and outreaches.
  • Identify, recruit, and train a diverse team in carrying out ministries that aim to engage children, youth and families.
  • Work alongside Corps Officers to respond to the needs of the communities and build programs that meet holistic needs.
  • Support existing ministry leaders in Youth and Children, helping provide mission delivery.
  • Oversee the implementation of all programs in relation to children, youth and families.

Ideal Candidate

  • At least three years' experience working with children, youth or families' ministries.
  • Experience working in Salvation Army services and mission expressions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues experienced by children and young people, particularly from inter‑cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in communication vision and implementing strategies to achieve clear objectives.
  • Knowledge of child development and ability and experience in developing and delivering individual and group work sessions to children and parents would be highly regarded.
  • Current First Aid Certification or willingness to undertake training for it.
  • A willingness to undergo Keeping Children Safe checks and policy training.

    This role is permanent full‑time , and hours worked will be 37.5 per week. Hours of work will vary according to programme service delivery.

    The starting salary for this role will fall between $70,000.00 and $71,651.00 gross per annum.

    The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $35.90 and $36.74 gross per hour.
