Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity

On a day to day basis, you will be working in a local school / s setting, working with a case load of families, providing early intervention and preventive social work services to vulnerable children and teens; and their whanau.

This includes individual and group work, and using our strengths-based, multi-systemic approach to encourage positive and lasting change.

Nga pukenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience

To be successful as a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) you will have a professional, warm and engaging nature; and have / be :

A tertiary level degree, majoring / specialised in Social Work

Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board

Full, clean NZ driver licence, and a reliable vehicle

Experience working as a Social Worker

Advanced interpersonal skills, including ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, their families, the local school and your colleagues

Excellent ability to maintain professional boundaries, meet KPI's and adhere to practice requirements

Confident working knowledge of Tikanga Maori; and commitment to working with Tangata Whenua

Experience working with children in a school setting would be a distinct advantage
