Our Wairarapa Laboratory is currently looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and competent Medical Laboratory Technician.
This is a permanent, full-time position of 80 hour per fortnight.
In this role, you will support the daily operations of the laboratory by performing a range of essential tasks.
Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to quality service are key to your success.
Key responsibilities include :
Barcoding, receipting, and preparing specimens as they arrive at the laboratory.
Entering patient and test details accurately into the system.
Answering telephones and handling enquiries professionally.
Work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy.
Be willing to learn new skills and adapt to changing procedures.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Maintain a friendly, customer-focused approach at all times.
Show initiative and be self-sufficient in your day-to-day tasks.

To be successful in this role you need to have :
Registration with Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual or Interim Practicing Certificate.
A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience
A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
