What You’ll Do

As our HSE Manager you will :

  • Be a subject matter expert in health, safety, and environment (HSE), provide expert advice to leaders and employees in line with best practice and New Zealand legislation, drive a proactive safety culture across ITW Construction, prepare clear and accurate safety reports for management, and support informed decision-making at all levels.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Ensure the Safety Management System (SMS) is regularly audited for compliance and review and improve systems based on feedback, audits and incident reviews.
  • Collaborate with ITW Construction Business leaders to foster a strong safety culture through visible leadership and safe practices, and provide guidance to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs, including readiness for RTWP and ACC engagement, and ensure safe and compliant handling, storage, and transport of dangerous goods, with proper manual handling techniques.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HSE with readiness to take on a managerial role
  • Safety-first mindset under pressure
  • Experience in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of NZ Safety laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems and their application in health and safety management
  • Ability to drive the Safety Culture within the NZ workforce
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business leaders to achieve shared goals
  • Experience in dangerous goods handling, psychological safety, compliance, and related safety practices
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and focus on key priorities
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety training and induction processes and modules
  • Health and Safety Committee facilitation experience
