Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity The Digital Services team is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven IT Project Manager to lead a critical phase of a major HR Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transformation.
This role is responsible for the successful embedding of the new system across the organisation and the remediation of outstanding technical and process gaps post-go-live.
You will be the central pivot, coordinating cross-functional teams (HR, IT, and Business Stakeholders) to ensure stability, optimise system adoption, and deliver the promised business benefits.
Key Requirements : Proven experience managing complex, large-scale HR ERP (ideally with Workday) programmes, with a focus on post-implementation stabilisation, change management, and defect resolution.
This role will require strong leadership and project management skills to ensure successful outcomes within agreed timeframes.
You will facilitate collaboration between key stakeholders, including third-party vendors, internal IT teams, and the wider University faculty and service departments.
Other key responsibilities include : Manage organisational change using recognised methodologies.
Develop and monitor project plans, budgets, and progress reporting.
Identify and resolve risks, issues, and blockers.
Provide clear reporting and analytics on project outcomes.
Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote project benefits.

He korero mou | About you Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale transformation projects within enterprise environments.
Experience delivering ERP projects (Finance and / or HR), with embedding and remediation activities as a core focus.
Strong senior stakeholder management skills, able to influence and collaborate across diverse groups.
Ability to see the big picture while diving into detail, identifying root causes of issues and supporting teams to resolve them.
Skilled at unravelling complexity, providing clarity and direction to stakeholders.
Expertise in project methodologies and ideally hold certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile.
Familiarity with Workday is beneficial but not essential.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and confidence in presenting to governance forums.
Highly organised, analytical, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and financial acumen for managing budgets.
