Job description

Te Puni Kokiri leads policy advice to the Government on Maori development, and Iwi and Maori relations with the Crown.

To do this effectively we must position ourselves to elevate our monitoring and mentoring responsibilities and emphasise our role in holding other agencies to account for delivery of public services to, for and with Maori.

We have an awesome opportunity for an Administrator who is organised and passionate.

The Kaihapai | Administrator reports to the Manukura | Team Leader, Rotorua and is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Te whai wahitanga | The opportunity

As the Kaihapai | Administrator, you will provide professional and seamless administrative services to support the day-to-day operation of our tari / office.

You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with other support staff, regional advisors, national office staff and a wide range of stakeholders.

You will become familiar with Te Puni Kokiri systems and processes and encourage their use across the team.

You will work closely with the Team Leader to deliver the work programme and provide support with activities such as contingency planning, security management, and emergency procedures.

The likely appointment range is $60,818 - $66,900 based on skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will :

  • Have demonstrated administration support experience
  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Have strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Excel in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload
  • Be comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment, and comfortable in situations where tikanga is observed
