Junior team Kaiako

Position Overview

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher. Central School Te Kura Waenga o Ngāmotu is looking for a warm and caring junior school kaiako to join our team. The position will either be in a Y1–2 class or a Y2–3 class. The position is a fixed‑term position due to a teacher being on leave for the 2026 calendar year. It will commence on Wednesday 28 January and finish on Friday 11th December, 2026.

Qualifications

• Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi background
• Certificated teacher
• Sound teaching practice and knowledge in structured literacy
• High standards and strong commitment to tamariki

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be a team player with sound teaching practice and knowledge in structured literacy. They will have high standards and a strong commitment to our tamariki and being the best classroom teacher possible.

We are looking to appoint a teacher to this position before the end of the 2025 school year, so have a tight timeline.
