We are seeking a permanent, part-time teacher (0.3 FTTE) to work alongside one of our established new entrant / Y1 teachers.
This position involves teaching within a highly supported new entrant / Y1 environment while the other teacher is released for leadership and classroom release time.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate :
1. Passion and experience with junior learners
A genuine passion for tamariki and a deep understanding of the developmental needs of our youngest learners (Y0 and 1).
The ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes a strong sense of Whanaungatanga (belonging and connection).
2. Specific pedagogical skills
Prior experience and competency in Structured Literacy, with a preference for knowledge in Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA).
Familiarity with teaching mathematics using concepts and resources from The Learner First.
Please note : While experience in these areas is preferred, full training and ongoing support will be provided for the successful applicant.
