INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN (5-10yrs)

A bit about us : - Architect People is a modern & dynamic New Plymouth based practice. Our team includes a mixture of Architects, Graduates, Technicians and Interior Designers. We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technician to join our team. Our practice undertakes a diverse range of award winning projects including residential, commercial, education, hospitality and aged care in the Taranaki region. We work in a collaborative, innovative office with a strong focus on culture and family. As an Intermediate Technician you will be leading (depending on experience) or working as part of a team to deliver architectural documentation packages. We actively develop our team members and would be giving the opportunity to upskill through experience and mentorship. We work predominantly from our office at 170 Powderham street. We are a business built of young families and offer flexibility to let people manage their busy lives.

What we require

• Intermediate Architectural Technician with 5-10 years’ experience
• Excellent communication skills able to and confidently work with consultants & contractors
• Strong work ethic and responsible attitude to own work
• Works with limited supervision.
• Able to create own project delivery plan
• Able to review as built construction details and make recommendations.
• Familiar with typical NZ construction materials / systems
• May supervise or direct junior technical staff
• Adept at problem solving - able to prioritize and resolve technical design challenges efficiently
• Technically proficient to NZ Building code, applicable codes / standards (3604, 4121, AS3500, metal roofing COP, GIB brace, DesignIT)
• Technical proficiency is Microsoft software – teams, word, excel, outlook, OneDrive
• Desire to learn and lead by example
• May manage the technical design of small to medium projects from design to completion, including responsibility for the technical quality and completeness of documentation and drawings
• Able to work individually or as part of a larger project team on bigger projects.
• Experience in Revit & Enscape critical
• An ability to work full time – 40 hours per week.
