Face to Face Literacy Coach - Te AwamutuVolunteer Opportunity in Te Awamutu – Become a Literacy Coach!

Are you passionate about literacy and keen to make a positive difference in your community?

The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust (RYALT) is looking for a caring and committed volunteer to support an adult student in Te Awamutu.You'll meet regularly at a local library or community centre to provide one-on-one literacy support—and help someone open the door to new opportunities through learning.OverviewVolunteer to support an adult learner in Te Awamutu through one-on-one literacy coaching.

Full training and ongoing support are provided.ResponsibilitiesProvide one-on-one literacy support to an adult learner at a local library or community centre.Help the learner build confidence and open doors to new opportunities through learning.Attend scheduled sessions and maintain regular communication with the learner and RYALT coordinator.Who We're Looking ForYou don't need teaching experience—just a willingness to help, patience, and a genuine desire to support others.

RequirementsPreferably has an educational background (but not essential)Patient and supportive in their approachGood computer skillsFluent in English – strong spoken, reading, and writing abilitiesReliable and committedA friendly, empathetic personalityFull training and ongoing support provided – no teaching experience required!
