About the Role

We're looking for a Radiation Oncologist (SMO) to join a well-established regional service providing high-quality care across a wide range of tumour streams. You'll be part of a collaborative, research-active department that values innovation, education, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

The service is recognised as a training centre for medical physicists, radiation oncology registrars, and nursing staff. You'll be joining a supportive and progressive team with a genuine focus on collaboration, professional growth, and community engagement. The department promotes continuous learning, research participation, and a balanced approach to work and life.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide comprehensive radiation oncology care, primarily public cases (approx. 90%)
• Act as a consultant liaison, working closely with other health professionals
• Participate in clinical trials, research, and regional oncology meetings
• Contribute to education and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate across tumour boards and specialist groups to enhance patient outcomes

About You

• Qualified Radiation Oncologist (SMO) registered with Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for registration
• Broad experience in general radiation oncology preferred
• Collegial, community-minded, and committed to patient-centred care
