If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Platform Specialist focussed on applications used by our Wholesale Markets / Trading team.

In this hands-on role, you'll provide technical expertise, configuration, support, and subject matter expertise for Mercury's Wholesale Markets platforms.

You'll play a key role in maintaining the stability and security of critical systems, while also helping to design and implement improvements that drive efficiency, automation, and innovation.

This role offers the best of both worlds, combining engineering, data, and technology, where you'll be exposed to a wide range of applications, integrations, and cloud technologies.

We're looking for someone who's curious, analytical, and proactive, with a can-do attitude and a continuous improvement mindset.

This role will be primarily based in Mercury's Hamilton office.

Tau e mahi ai | What you'll be doing :

Support and maintain technology platforms that underpin electricity generation and wholesale operations.

Collaborate with as part of agile teams including Product Owner, Software Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to ensure our platforms are kept up to date and benefit from modern deployment pipelines and observability solutions.

Foster a "keep it simple" mindset and contribute innovative ideas to problem solving

Manage and maintain the operational health, stability, and security of platform and applications.

Analyse and troubleshoot functional and non-functional application issues.

Work with stakeholders to grow platform capabilities, resolve issues quickly, and ensure systems meet business needs.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to participate in our on-call roster, this is to ensure organisational support for incidents and problems outside of normal business hours.

This role is expected to commence in January; however, there may be some flexibility to accommodate an earlier start should you be available immediately.

Strong experience supporting / administering enterprise business systems applications

Experience of working with agile software development teams

Good knowledge of application and infrastructure domains

Operating Systems : Windows Server, knowledge of Linux is advantageous

RDBMS : SQLServer including SSIS.

Familiary with other RDBMS is advantageous

Experience with modern observability platforms (e.g. Datadog)

Strong documentation skills to create and update documentation for L1-L3 support teams
