Kiwi Kids Preschool is a privately owned centre in Christchurch, providing care and education for up to 98 children, including 25 babies. Our philosophy is built on freedom for play and exploration, fun and laughter, manaakitanga, and a strong sense of whānau and community.

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring centre manager to guide our team and help shape the next stage of our centre’s journey.

About the role

The centre manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation, including staff leadership, curriculum delivery, compliance, policies, and procedures. You will model high-quality teaching practice, mentor and support kaiako, and build a collaborative, positive team culture.

You will ensure the centre meets licensing and ERO requirements, oversee strategic planning, and maintain high standards of education and care. The role also involves financial management, occupancy growth, and engaging with our local community to strengthen whānau connections.

Our ideal candidate will :

• Hold a recognised ECE qualification and full teacher registration.
• Have proven leadership and management experience in an ECE setting.
• Be approachable, calm, and positive, with excellent communication skills.
• Understand ECE legislation, MOE funding, licensing criteria, and ERO requirements.
• Be confident in staff development, coaching, and mentoring.
• Have financial acumen (experience with Infocare is an advantage).
